This has to be my no.1 requested blogpost hands down!! I’ll be showing you a step by step guide on how to do this side-dutch braid. It’s not that hard as it looks!
Let’s get started shall we??
Start with well brushed hair, second day hair works best as they give more texture to the braid.
Section off your hair with a deep side part, start braiding your hair in a dutch braid(also known as reverse braid or inside out braid)
It uses the same technique as a french braid but instead of crossing the sections over, you bring them underneath into the middle.
You can skip this step if you know how to dutch braid, for those of you who don’t, It’s really simple, all you have to do is grab a piece of hair from the side of your head, split the section you grabbed into three strands for braiding.
Cross the right strand under the center strand, cross the left strand under the center strand. Repeat the pattern.
Continue the dutch braid until you reach near your ear.
When you’re done, tie an elastic at the end.
Now, this is the most important and fun step. Starting from the top start pulling apart your braid, just make sure to pull it lightly, so that it creates an effect of a fuller braid.
Keep on repeating the same process till you reach the end.
You’re almost done.
Even if you mess up don’t worry, we can fix that with some trusty old bobby pins. Tie the remaining ends with some bobby pins and you’re good to go.
And we’re done. 😀
I hope this was helpful, also please don’t forget to tag me in your pictures if you try out this hairstyle, I would love to see your pictures. <3
